Let comfort set the pace

Tidal Garden uses a visual guide for comfortable breathing. The guide is an invitation, not a target you must reach. Breathe normally if the rhythm does not suit you. Synaptik does not require breath holding or reward pushing through discomfort.

Know what the research studied

Research on breathwork uses particular protocols, durations, populations and comparison groups. Results from a five-minute research exercise do not validate a different three-minute game. Synaptik presents its breathing activity as research-informed practice, not a treatment with a proven clinical effect.

Make stopping easy

Pause or leave whenever you choose. If breathing exercises feel uncomfortable, switch to an outward-focused activity or stop. The app distinguishes a stopped session from a completed one and does not turn discomfort into a score. Optional ratings describe an observation rather than a successful or failed treatment.

Build a routine without overinterpreting it

A preferred time can help you remember an activity, but it is not a prescribed dose. Look at your experience over time without assuming that a streak or a single better mood rating proves benefit. Read the science page for the evidence boundaries and choose activities that feel workable for you.
